Here is what he said: "Having a country like North Korea, in control of at least twenty and probably sixty nuclear weapons, that is a big human rights issue in itself. Because that is a great danger to the right to life and the environmental rights of people on the Korean peninsula and beyond, so they are very much interconnected and there will be no peace on the Korean peninsula whilst the situation in North Korea is as grim as is what was described in our report." "Because we are talking about things existential here, we are talking about the survival potentially of the human species. If we can’t deal with the North Korean proliferation of nuclear weapons then the risks to the human species is enormous. So we really must respond, and it’s a good thing that President Trump has responded in a way maybe the fact that he hasn’t had the same background and training and the linear logical State Department brilliant training in negotiations, it’s been an advantage that he’s looked outside the square and opened to the discussion and we just have to hope that he will have a lot of good guidance on what can be achieved and how to go about getting it."
